Occitan tradition and black music. Moussu T e lei Jovents reinvent the Marseilles song and transmit the message of a maritime and port Provence, cosmopolitan and proud of its history. The Marseille of the 1930s is the band’s inspiration, that born around the Massilia Sound System’s founder, Tatou; its guitarist, Blu; and the Brazilian percussionist Jamilson. As a result, their songs have a music mix: Provencal songs, local operas by Vincent Scotto and black music (blues, jazz, traditional Caribbean and Brazilian airs). That’s the band’s influences: Moussu T e lei Jovents renew the repertoire, creating a new image of the Occità coast, of Marseille or of La Ciotat, traditional and modern, local and universal, full of nostalgia and foot-tapping rhythms.
